Description

Originally built for the Shriners, Atlanta's Fox Theatre is a cultural landmark. The building exterior reflects Spain's Moorish architectural influences from the Alhambra Palace. The exquisite interior blends Moorish and Egyptian (Temple of Karnak) influences. The theatre opened Christmas Day 1929, premiering Walt Disney's iconic character, Mickey Mouse, in "Steamboat Willie." The historic theatre hosts concerts, musicals, plays, and lectures.

Loss not "list".

One of my favorite pieces of architecture. In Atlanta history it took considerable effort to preserve the Fox from demolition back in the 70's. Think of the list that would have been had developers succeeded.
