Read Marian Wenzel who wrote a scientific paper: Marian Wenzel: Bosnian and Herzegovinian Tombstobes – Who Made Them and Why? In: Sudost-Forschungen, 21. 1962, S. 102–143. Medieval stecci were elevated by medieval Vlachs.

The tombstone is from 1889 as can be seen. So it is not a medieval stone,

This one is from 1889. but the tradition starts from the middle ages. As I said in the description of the photo: ""The Stećci (singular: Stećak), are monumental medieval tombstones. Appearing in the 11th century, the stećci reached their peak in the late 14th to 15th centuries, before dying away during the Ottoman occupation. Symbols of the tombstones indicate Gothic-Celtic origin. The word itself is a contracted form of the older word stojećak, which is derived from the verb stajati (v. stand). It literally means "the standing thing".

I would like to know who has had the courtesy to buy my images. This is purely out of curiosity, as I feel an emotional attachment to each piece and I only pretend to know more about the person who enjoys my work. Unfortunately, Fine Art America only publishes the country where the buyer of the photos lives. Therefore, I would ask my clients, including those who have already bought a print in the past, to communicate it to my private email: jcferrod@gmail.com I graduated as a Film Director, and have worked for more than 30 years in Cinema and TV as a Director, Director of Photography and Editor, as well as in Publicity and Promotion as a Photographer and Art Director. All these years I have been a free lancer. Photography has been...
